If your wedding day timeline feels packed but you still want beautiful, relaxed portraits, here’s a tip from a Cleveland wedding photographer: consider doing a pre-wedding portrait session!

That’s exactly what Jennifer and Nathan did. Instead of squeezing portraits into their wedding day, we met a few weeks earlier at the Cleveland Cultural Gardens for a stress-free session. This location is one of the most romantic spots in the city, filled with lush greenery, stone pathways, and timeless architecture, making it perfect for Cleveland engagement and wedding photos alike. We explored the Hungarian, Greek, and Italian Gardens, which sit right next to each other in a row.

Because this was a separate portrait session, there was no rush or timeline pressure. Jennifer wore her gorgeous gown from Formality Bridal, and Nathan looked sharp in his suit from Dillard’s. Together, they explored the gardens, shared a few quiet moments, and even practiced their choreographed first dance in their wedding outfits! Those spinning shots ended up being some of my favorites!

Doing a pre-wedding session in Cleveland allowed them to be fully present on their actual wedding day. Instead of worrying about leaving their guests or finding extra portrait time, they enjoyed every moment with friends and family knowing their couple photos were already taken care of.
